先生のグループワークがクライマックスに来ています。多国籍の学生が揃う講義で、8グループぐらいがそれぞれに、異文化交流をテーマに活動したり、集まったりしています。私のDarkグループには、ベルギー フィンランド ドイツ ペルー 日本 で、かなり違うもの同士の集まりです。本当は間にLearning
Logを書くことになっていますが、全く進んでいません。参考文献も山とありますが読んでいる様子ではありません。しかし、他の講義にはない方法のグループなので参加者はとても楽しんでいます。グループの1名ずつはシリアスな意見を出すのは躊躇してしまう空気みたいなのがあり、講義での英語議論は特に問題ないものの、うちとけて話すというには、TOEFLでいえば600クリアで入ってきている院生たちですが、微妙なわいわい話というものは議論よりはるかに難しいものがあります。それで、どういう経緯が忘れましたが、Potatoesお芋のグローバル展開でクッキングをすることになりました。SimilarityとDifferenceを発見しながらとにかく、Anaの家に日曜日に集まることになりました。フィンランド出身 地元学生なので、さすが、とっても便利でお洒落な、暖炉つきのアパートメントを格安で見つけていました。この講義ではグループも組み替えるので、様々な国の人と話をしますが、ドイツの学生がややシャイですが数の面でもマジョリティで、しっかり者、オランダの学生はフランクで、スロベニア系はとにかく自分の意見をよくいう積極的。そしてフィンランドの学生が結構推進役をしてくれています（だれがリーダーとか決めませんが）。地元の強さもありますが、幼いときから、グループワークはずっと経験してきていて、人の話を引き出して前に進める力があります。じゃがいもは日本ではあまりメジャーと言えませんが、ドイツやフィンランドではジャガイモのステータスが高い様子です。ペルーは様々な色の芋があることで有名ですが（インカの目覚めとか）、よく調べると、芋の発祥地は南米でした。ペルーのJPは、さすがペルーの料理の一品というのを作ってくれました。Anaのポテトサラダは、ニンニクが効いていて、大人の味、ドイツのポテトスープはポテトマッシュみたいで、ベルギーの、牛肉ほぐしたのとジャガイモは、初めて味でおいしいでした。かなり時間がかかる料理で、土曜日はそれぞれに下ごしらえしてくれたようでした。これには結構びっくりしました。私は15分で作れる大学芋でしたから（なので、おまけに巻きずしを持参しました）。お母さまにメールして教わり、初めて真剣にこの料理を作ったというメラニー、クッキングをとおして互いの距離がだいぶ縮まったようです。講義のStage1~5をクリアするのは難しそうですが、互いに知恵を出し合って良い時間を持てたという満足感とともに、ジャガイモで満腹になり、クリスマスのフィンランドアニメを皆で見て、全員カウチポテトになりました。さて、プレゼンはどうするかな～。Learning

グループワーク ５つのステージ
1st stage: Getting started
First introduce your self to your group at Moodle discussion area.
After that, in your small groups, please discuss, find and choose some features that you find similar to all of you. Discuss, how does
these features affect your communication with one another / with others around you?
2nd stage: Getting to know one another
Spend time together. Go to the movies, have dinner, go out, play pool/badminton, meet at the internet, share a space. Discuss the
following topics and report shortly on your discussions.
3rd stage: Taking photos
Make or copy some photos/ videos that represent the similarities within you group. Visually portrait the group in a way that you would
like others to see it. What do you find valuable, precious, and worth celebrating within this group? Make this visible!
4th stage: Presentation in small groups (24.10.)
Place the photos / videos at Moodle and prepare to present your works to the other groups. Prepare a presentation.
Prepare a 10 minute presentation about the group work. The aim of the presentation is to teach others something about from the
contents of the assignment. This something can be a theoretical idea / framework, research results, interesting point of view, critical points about the phenomena of similiarity and
interpersonal / intercultural relationships, etc.
E.g. you do not have time to discuss the whole process of your group work covering everything in it. Rather, the aim is to focus on
and narrow down something that is relevant and interesting to you and to your fellow students.
At least answer the question of What did you learn through this group work?
When preparing for the presentation, take into consideration the following issues:
WHAT is the goal of your presentation; educate, share information, challenge students’ thinking, challenge listeners to change their
thinking and / or behavior, entertain, or something else?
What are the main points and highlights?
What do you want people to remember after your presentation?
Who are the listeners? (Analysis of your listeners)
What is the structure of the presentation; How to start and end
How to eloquent the speech (slides, music, questions, stories, examples, etc.)
5th stage : Final self- and peer evaluation (Instructions from the teacher)
